Code Cutter freezes

I installed Code Cutter -- MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.2 -- and I've found that whenever I click on the Snippets tool button the app freezes with the spinning beach ball. Force Quit on the APple menu lists Code Cutter as being unresponsive.

i am having two problems:

1) The open file option is always grayed out and there is nothing in the open recent option. (included screenshot)

2) When I start trying to test all the options from the toolbar it freezes and beachballs

i have included screenshot of system and hardware i am running

Open is not part of this App, Remember it's still in Alpha Stages. Click the themes button to open a theme.
